भारतीय धरोहर के बिना बुर्यात संस्कृति को समझना असम्भव है। साथ ही बुर्यातिया के बौद्ध मठो मे सरक्षित तिब्बती और मंगोल ग्रंथ भारतविद्या के लिए अपार महत्त्व रखते हैं। कास्पियन सागर के उत्तर- पश्चिमी तट पर स्थित कल्मीकिया भी भारतीय संस्कृति से जुडा हुआ है। यहां १७वीं शताब्दी मे बौद्ध धर्म का प्रचलन हुआ।

bhaarateey dharohar ke bina buryaat sanskrti ko samajhana asambhav hai. saath hee buryaatiya ke bauddh matho me sarakshit tibbatee aur mangol granth bhaaratavidya ke lie apaar mahattv rakhate hain. kaaspiyan saagar ke uttar- pashchimee tat par sthit kalmeekiya bhee bhaarateey sanskrti se juda hua hai. yahaan 17veen shataabdee me bauddh dharm ka prachalan hua.
