सोमनाथ आचार्य चतुरसेन द्वारा लिखी हुई पुस्तक के कुछ अंश –अब से लगभग हजारो वर्ष पहले इसी पर स्थान पर सोमनाथ का कीर्तिवान
महालय था, जिसका अलौकिक वैभव बद्रिकाआश्रम से सेतुबंध रामेश्वर तक, और
कन्याकुमारी से बंगाल के छोर तक, विख्यात था। भारत के कोने-कोने से श्रद्धालु -यात्री
ठठ-के-ठठ बारहों-महीना इस महातीर्थ में आते और सोमनाथ के दर्शन करतेथे।
अनेक राजा-रानी- राजवंशी- धनी कुबेर-श्री मंत साहूकार- यहाँ पर मंदिर में महीनों पड़े रहते थे और अनिगनत धन, रत्न , गाँव, धरती सोमनाथ के चरणों पर चढ़ा जातेथे । इससे सोमनाथ का वैभव अवर्णीय एवं अतुलनीय हो गया था।
