किंतु इसके साधकों को इस बात का विचार हमेशा रखना चाहिए कि जिस प्रकार तैरना सीखने के लिए किसी पुस्तक के ज्ञान से काम नहीं चलता, उसके लिए तो पानी में कूदना ही पड़ता है। ठीक उसी प्रकार किसी भी ग्रंथ को पढ़ लेने भर से आत्मा का ज्ञान नहीं होता और बिना आत्मज्ञान के मुक्ति मिलना असंभव है। इस ज्ञान को किसी गुरु के मार्गदर्शन में स्वयं ही प्राप्त करना पड़ता है। सभी प्रकार के ग्रंथ केवल हमें केवल मार्ग ही दिखा सकते हैं चलना तो हमें स्वयं को ही पड़ेगा।
